Shanghai University of Electric Power, founded in 1951, is a full-time institution of higher learning, co-run by the central government and the Shanghai municipality, and managed mainly by the Shanghai municipality. Pingliang Campus, the main campus of the university, lies near Yangpu Bridge in the eastern urban district of Shanghai, overlooking Pudong from the other side of Huangpu River. 1. History
Shanghai University of Electric Power, founded in 1951 and it was named as Shanghai School of Electricity Industry. In 1959, the university was re-named as Shanghai Power School and Shanghai amateur Power Institute merged into Shanghai Power School in 1960. With the approval of the Ministry of education, Shanghai Power School was re-named as Shanghai University of Electric Power.

Shanghai University of Electric Power has established eleven second-level colleges, such as college of Mechanical Engineering, college of Environmental and Chemical Engineering and college of Economics and Management. 30 Undergraduate Programs & 23 Postgraduate Programs are offered for Shanghai University of Electric Power. Answer: At present, all programs can be instructed in Chinese and English, and the University arranges the preparatory Chinese course for international students who have been enrolled in Chinese taught programs.

Answer: The living standard here is superior, for example, reference costs 200 USD per month for food. Answer: Shanghai University Of Electric Power provides airport pick-up service to international students in group from the local airports – Shanghai Pudong International Airport or Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to the campus. But international students should send detailed departure, transfer, arrival schedule and name of the airport to us minimum 7 days in advance so that the university can pick up without any delay. Airport Pick-up Service is only available during Registration time.

Answer: Students can exchange some Chinese currency in bank for shuttle/bus ticket fare and pocket money in the big international airport when they arrive in China. And students can buy telephone card from business counter in the airport to give international call and domestic call if students need.

Answer: there are 2 airports, 3 train stations, 13 metro lines and many buses to most cities in China and many foreign cities. There are convenient public facilities for telecom and internet, you can buy telecom card to call in any time.
