Founded in 1956, HDU is a young institute of higher learning on the southeast coast of China. It thrives with the Chinese Information industry, and has become a multi-disciplinary research-teaching university and a provincial hub for sci-tech research and development nowadays. 

In the past 6 decades, HDU has educated over 100,000 engineers and business managers, and it is an alma mater to 1/3 of the leaders of the top 100 Chinese IT enterprises. Jack Ma and his world-renowned Alibaba Group took off here, too. No wonder, therefore, HDU is widely acclaimed as a national “Cradle of IT entrepreneurs and excellent accountants”.

HDU serves the community with not only quality professionals but also cutting-edge research. Following the motto of “Diligence, Practice, Integrity and Innovation”(笃学力行，守正求新), we contributed heavily to many national projects as well as private studies. We are the winner of 4 National Science and Technology Progress Awards and 2 National Invention Awards, and receive more than￥200 million research funds each year. 
 

Home to plenty of ministerial and provincial teaching and innovation centers, key laboratories, and international joint platforms, HDU also prides itself on its remarkable pool of talent. Led by 3 Members of the China Academy of Science, 4 National Distinguished Experts, 4 National Outstanding Youth Fund Scholars, and many more upcoming talents, our faculty stands among the best and brightest of the province.

As one of the top 5 universities of Zhejiang, HDU is also a global player. It boasts a National Overseas Intellectual Introduction Base, and has over 70 partners around the world. It has established 1 China-foreign Joint Institute, 3 China-foreign Cooperative Educational Programs at home, and 6 joint schools overseas.

Currently, 38.3% of HDU's faculty and 11.6% of students have studied abroad. Moreover, HDU hosts a series of international conferences and around 200 visiting scholars each year. Over 1000 of international students come to HDU to pursue their studies in 2019, and over 160 foreign teachers and experts are here to teach or research each year.

On-campus Living

All International students including Chinese Language Program students, Undergraduate Program students, and Graduate Program Students need to live in our campus dormitory which provides a bed, desk, bookshelf, air-conditioning, hot water heater, refrigerator, washing machine, and campus wireless network. On-campus dwelling students should comply with the Rules and Regulations on Management of International Student Dormitories at HDU.

1. Accommodation Fee Standard

5400RMB/ double room/ one academic year/ one student
Students must pay the accommodation fee for the entire academic year each year one time.

2. Living Expenses
Students must pay electricity and water bills each month on time.

Application Requirement

1. Chinese Language Program Applicants

   Between the age of 17-25 with a High School Certificate or Diploma

2. Undergraduate Degree Programs Applicants

   Between the age of 18-25 with a High School Certificate or Diploma

3. Master Degree Programs Applicants

   Under the age of 32 with B.A Degree Certificate or Diploma

4. Doctor and Ph.D. Degree Programs Applicants

   Under the age of 35 with a Master’s Degree Certificate or Diploma

Note: 

1. The above applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health with Non-criminal records. These foreigners guarantee to observe Chinese disciplines and laws and obey the university rules and regulations. Do respect Chinese culture and customs during your study 
2. The applicants must hold HSK4 or HSK5 certificates for the Chinese-taught program.
3. The applicants’ Chinese proficiency is not required for an English-taught program. Still, either New TOEFL (above 80),  IELTS (above 5.5), or the related Certificate, will be accepted after providing is confirmed or met the application requirement.

• Foreigner Physical Examination Form (Download from the website).
• First Page of the Passport and Valid Visa Page.
  Note: If the applicant has been to China or is in China, provide the Latest Entry Seal.
• Notarized academic transcript and formal English/Chinese translation.
• Notarized highest education Certificate or Diploma and formal English/Chinese translation.
• HSK Band-4 Certificate or above for Chinese-taught program applicants.
• New TOFEL (above 80) or IELTS (above 5.5) Certificate for English-taught Programs Applicants.
• English Version of the Non-criminal Record Certificate Issued by the Local Security Department from the Applicants’ Host Country.
• English Version of the Financial Support Statement Issued by the Local Bank from the Applicants’ Host Country.
• Two Recommendation Letters are written by 2 Associate Professors or Professors from the related universities in China and abroad for Graduates of Master's or Ph.D. Applicants.
• One Digital Photo of a Two-inch, Full-faced, No Hat, the Head Part Accounts for 2/3 of the Photo Size and No Border on White Background in the Recent Past 6 Months.
• Chinese Language Graduation Certificate and Transcript for Applicants Who Studied Chinese Language Program in China Before.
• Students who have studied in a China university or college need to provide a Statement of Daily Performance issued by the university or college.

• Digital Photo
  The photo must be named after your valid Passport Number. The photo's pixel must be more than 295 * 413, the height and width ratio of the image must be 4: 3, the space taken must be 1-200KB, and the format must be JPG as the government requires.
• Financial Support Certificate
  Parents’ Salary Statement within the recent past six months or Bank Certificate of at least
  ¥50000(RMB) or above is issued by the local bank from the applicant’s host country.
• JW202 Form
  JW202 Form will be sent to email if you are recruited. Please make sure the email provided is genuine and valid.
